The Maumee River Heritage Grants are designed to spark local creativity, stewardship, and storytelling along one of our region’s most vital waterways. Hosted and funded by the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor, this new grant program offers $500 awards to support community-based projects that celebrate, preserve, and protect the natural, cultural, and historical heritage of the Maumee River. From environmental conservation and public history to education, art, and interpretation, these grants empower individuals and organizations to turn meaningful ideas into action and strengthen our shared connection to the river.

The Maumee River Heritage Grants were made possible through the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor’s grassroots fundraising efforts, most notably our community-favorite Root Beer Stand. Thanks to the enthusiastic support of residents and visitors, the stand sold thousands of cups of root beer, with proceeds dedicated directly to this grant program.
