There are 27 Ohio Scenic Byways around the state recognized by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), including the Maumee Valley Scenic Byway. The National Scenic Byways Program, established by Congress in 1991, recognizes historic, scenic, and culturally important roads, all of which promote economic development and tourism in communities around the United States. There are more than 1,200 byways in all 50 states.
The Ohio Scenic Byway Program is a grassroots effort to heighten the awareness of the resources that the state has to offer. Here is the link to the Maumee Valley Scenic Byway online and here is the map.
Maumee River Valley Forum: Past, Present, and the Future

Because our future matters, this morning event is an opportunity for residents, stakeholders, leaders, tourism partners, and others across the Maumee River Valley to meet and network with people from Defiance, Henry, Lucas, and Wood counties.
This MVSB – Past, Present and the Future forum format will allow for open discussion in a casual environment and will provide an opportunity to ask questions and seek answers.
The committee wants this event to be educational, participatory, and future-focused. We also hope it will foster fellowship and pride among attendees.
You will enjoy the south-side river setting of Oberhaus Park at the Rotary-Lions Community Center, 750 W. Maumee Ave., Napoleon, Ohio.
Knowledge is best shared when people come together, and events like this are one of the strongest ways to make that happen. The future of our great valley is up to all of us.
